Althaea’s immersive debut album, Welcome Home, blends soulful folk with ethereal vocals and lush strings. Althaea, derived from the Greek word for "to heal," embodies Malin Collins' intention to guide listeners on a transformative journey. Welcome Home is a personal and healing album, exploring themes of loss, love, light, and shadow. The music invites listeners to connect with their hearts and inner knowing, offering a place of solace and comfort along life's winding journey. Malin currently serves as the Viola Instructor at Amherst College and lives in Northampton, MA. Her offerings include grief rituals, body shame recovery mentorship, immersive concerts, sound healing journeys, song circles, and compositional sound projects for dance, film, and podcasts.
